National children’s TV presenter Andy Day will bring his famous dino raps to Wakefield when he switches on the Christmas lights at Trinity Walk on Thursday November 16..

The star of stage and children’s TV shows will perform a 30 minute live show from 4.45pm to 5.15pm, featuring his famous dinosaur raps, at the FREE event.

FREE face painting and balloon modelling will start at 3.30pm with big stage entertainment located near Burger King from 4pm featuring the Theatre Royal Wakefield panto star, before an appearance by Santa and then Andy from 4.45pm. The switch-on will take place at around 5.15pm.

Andy will then be available for quick pictures with visiting kids between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

The event also launches late night Thursday shopping, free parking after 3pm every Thursday until Christmas and free Santa's grotto every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas with donations going to Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

Andy Day said: “Being a children’s TV presenter means Christmas is an extra special time of year and I love helping get kids into the festive spirit. It’s my first time in Wakefield for a switch-on and I know Trinity Walk draws a large crowd for the event, so it’s going to be fun. My advice would be for kids to get practising their dino raps because I’ll be asking them to join in – and parents too."
