CHINESE BUFFET TUCKS IN TO WAKEFIELD’S TRINITY WALK
Following a flurry of retail lettings in the first 6 weeks of 2011, the catering offer at Wakefield’s Trinity Walk – the 500,000 sq ft shopping centre being developed by Sovereign Land, AREA Property Partners and Shepherd Construction – is also much in demand. The Chinese Buffet has just snapped up the largest unit in the scheme’s food area.
Offering authentic Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine, The Chinese Buffet has taken the entire first floor – a total of 9107 sq ft – of the main catering area, overlooking the scheme’s Market Walk area which links directly to the city’s main shopping streets from Teall Street. Trinity Walk will be The Chinese Buffet’s third restaurant, following the recent opening of new restaurants in Bolton and Wigan.
The first of only three major new shopping centres set to open in the UK this year, Trinity Walk’s impressive line-up includes the city’s first modern department store, Debenhams, as well as a 117,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s, plus fashion retailers H&M, New Look, Next, River Island, Peacocks, Topshop, Topman, Republic, JD, Bank, Dorothy Perkins and Burtons. Fragrance Shop, Carphone Warehouse, Orange, Menkind, Game and others have also taken space. And, in recent weeks, Asda Living, Argos, Deichmann, Clintons, Esquires, Bijou Brigitte and Costa have joined them.
Max La Frenais, Leasing Director at Sovereign Land, joint developer and development manager of Trinity Walk, said: “Our catering offer is really taking shape and we are delighted to welcome The Chinese Buffet to the mix. With Costa, Panini Shack, Esquires and Greggs plus Debenhams and Sainsbury’s cafes already on board, we are also in advanced negotiations with a number of restaurants for the remaining A3 offer and look forward to delivering an exciting, new catering offer to the city of Wakefield.”
