National Route 67 of the National Cycle Network will eventually run via Wakefield from near Loughborough via Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Chesterfield and on to Leeds and North to join National Route 71 near Northallerton in Yorkshire.
The Chesterfield to Leeds section, which passes through Wakefield, is already open and signed as the Trans Pennine Trail (central) cycle route. A journey planner is available here
